Modern methods of root canal preparation
What does endodontic treatment mean?
Endodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the treating and curing diseases of the dental pulp (nerve)
and ligaments supporting the root tip.
Why do I need endodontic treatment?
Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp is inflamed or infected due to:
* deep cavities;
* of stretched crown restorations (fillings);
* fractures of the enamel;
* trauma to the tooth.
Any environmental factor acting with increased intensity on teeth can trigger inflammation of the pulp (nerve).
Those factors can be:
* local (microbial, traumatic, chemical);
* general (general diseases of the body).
If not acting in time by means of removal the nerve root canal, cleaning and filling of channels,
pain may get worse, going to abscess formation leading to extraction or to spread infection throughout the body,
causing serious illness.
Modern methods of preparation of the channels is done using Pro Taper System rotating or manual
and by using the apex locator .
Pro Taper System allows rapid and uniform preparation of root canals due to the special shape of the niddles
and their elastic structure (nickel-titanium). This results in a special form of canals which allow effective disinfection
and filling them in an appropriate manner.
The apex locator is the latest technology device that can accurately measure root canal length
for a precision preparation.
